Medical Laboratory Technologists in Scott City, Kansas


Responsibilities of the position include performing all tests offered by Scott County Hospital; maintaining quality control standards with each test, with responsibility of recording Quality Control Data; and recognizing common technical problems and methods to correct them. The duties also include knowing proper methods of reporting lab results and paper work involved; being able to operate LIS and do minor troubleshooting for the system; and being familiar with normal ranges for tests or where to find them, making sure inadequate specimens are rejected. Also required is familiarity with all policies and procedures, and perform venous blood draw and ABG draws. May work weekends or evenings on call depending on staffing needs. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Medical Technology or related clinical degree. Must hold or be eligible for registration (ASCP MT, AMT, MLT or equivalent) as a medical technologist, with demonstrated ability in laboratory procedures and instrumentation. $45,906/yr.
